Professional Pointe Shoe Fitting

If it's your first time taking pointe class, it is recommended that you come into The Dance Line, Inc to be professionally fitted for your first pair of shoes to ensure your shoes fit properly for safe pointe work and a solid technique foundation.

New and Returning Pointe Shoe Fitting Information

Expect your pointe shoe fitting to take 1 hour. Your first pair of pointe shoes with fitting will range between $130-$190. If you purchase your pointe shoes from our store, the fitting fee will be waived. However, if your intent is to simply receive sizing information, a $25 fitting fee will be assessed prior to your fitting.

For returning pointe shoes after owning your first pair, please bring your current shoes, spacers, and toe pads. Your fitting will usually take 30 to 45 minutes.

Pointe shoes should be replaced at a minimum of every 9 months. A pointe shoe has 12-20 hours of life in each pair. It is important to replace your shoes regularly to make sure your dancer has the proper support from her shoe. After injuries, you should be refit even if the shoe was not used for the 20 hours of shoe life. Your foot will change after an injury and the same shoe does not usually work after the injury.
